2016 A Year of Completion

Image
Some numerology traditions state that nine is the number of completion. The sum of the year 2016 is nine, a completion. Last night as I was drifting off into sleep there was a flash saying the upcoming year is a year to finish what was started in 2007. Not to be overly dramatic, but we noticed our current president in 2007. That was the year hope became the word du jour for us. We celebrated hope and voted in a new president the following year. Now we are at the time of completion. What have we done in the intervening time? In spite of all the negative dramas being played out on the world stage, we have grown. There is more love than was there before, because we have put it there. We placed more hope in the world, and humanity is the better for it. We grew our consciousness to become more inclusive and diminished the gap of separation. We are a better race than when we started this current cycle in 2007. I just attended a ceremony where the elements of our lives that no ...

A Shift

Image
I pay an inordinate attention to the movement of my physical structure. No, it is not an ego thing, but the manner in which I understand the movement of energy in the physical environment of which I am apart. So I noticed something shifting around mid afternoon today. I am not yet certain how that shift will play out in the coming days. That is the glory of living in a body. As I entered the apartment from the mid week meditation, I could barely contain myself. I found myself pacing while waiting for the computer to start, jumping up and sitting down again; all within the span of a few minutes. Lately I have been rather sedentary sitting down or laying down every chance I get. Now I am bouncing off the walls. That is the immediate effect of the shift. It is glorious. So know that the movement of spirit on planet earth is about to break out in all sorts of unprecedented ways. I am an open channel for this great transforming force and the activity has ramped up a notch. I ...

My Letter from God

Image
Most years I do the ‘letter to God’ portion of the burning bowl ceremony with great hope in my heart that I will grow and expand in the upcoming year. It turned out to be mostly true. Last year was a little different as I was in the throes of recovering from colon surgery and looking forward to chemo therapy. I wrote my heart’s desire at the time. For 2015 I affirm by Divinity by: Communicating Gratitude Participating in activities at Unity North Investing my time in assisting others Living my life to the fullest Wholeness and health I am always Joyous. All appeared as I decreed, I am truly grateful .

L.O.V.E

The story popped up in my mind, as I was thinking about today's post. It was the Barcelona Olympics and I was watching. I watch as much of the Olympics as I can. 2016 is an Olympic year and I can hardly wait. I cry often and fancy myself as an Olympian. That day I saw the runner pull up with a hamstring injury, I sniffled, but was more interested in who won the race. Then a man barreled his way unto the field and hugged the injured runner and aided him to the finish line; where he released him a foot or so away so the young runner could finish his race. I openly wept. What brought the image into my mind, I do not know. I watched several versions on the YouTube, before settling on the one below. Naturally I cried. That is called poignancy. The story holds so much about the Human Spirit. but the first day and today, I saw love. A father's love for his son, a son's love for his sport, and the love showed by the audience as all recognized our common Humanity. I am in Love...

Phenomenon

Image
Yesterday I watched the film Phenomenon with John Travolta.   I had forgotten how much of The Teachings I follow that film contained. As I watched the unfolding saga of a person being transformed by knowledge, and the response to that transformation had on others, I had to smile sensing truth being told. Two quotes from the film caught my attention, so much so, I wrote them down. Today I use them as fodder for my musings. “I’m awake and everyone else is asleep.” The main character uttered those words. Sometimes it seems as though I hear a complete different drummer from those around me and at those times I have experienced a modicum of that statement. “Doc” played by Robert Duval , said the following in the bar when everyone there was making fun of George the main character played by Travolta. “You have to tear him down, so you can prove the world is flat, and you can sleep better at night.” Now where have we observed that? In today’s parlance it is called b...
