Who you are in a nutshell
Meanwhile in the
broad sweep of history, ships had to be built, airplanes constructed, families
migrate, people die, houses burn, earthquakes and storms sweep lands and sea,
governors elected, presidents die, nations formed, slaves bought and sold, and
many crops harvested; all to provide you with the particular world in which to
play out your life. All of this had to
happen in time and space for you to be here; and for you to get a glimpse of,
and understand, the very powerful forces at work in your life. It is no accident that you are reading this
book. Life has been calling you to
fulfill the noble patterns you set in motion eons ago for this time in the
cycles of the universe. That is a small
measure of who you are. Ultimately you
will discover that you are even more grand than even this short list of
attributes ascribed to your soul and its thrust to manifest its beauty and the glory
of love available on this planet we call earth.
I bet you were
thinking that you are just a human being, with many frailties, who had no great
role to play in the grand scheme of things.
Ah, but you are not. You are a
being so vital, that mountains had to be moved to provide you with just the right
vehicle for what you are capable of expressing.
No other human being on the face of this earth is able to express the
grandeur of life the way you can, because you are extremely unique. This is not a testament to your ego, as in no
way does the forgoing imply specialness in the usual sense of that word. But it is, and remains, the truth about
you. There have been many movies and
books which have taken up this theme about the value of one human being, and
how the world would not be the same without that particular human being. They are only the tip of a very big
iceberg. It is true of every human being
on the face of this earth. Every one of
us is so vital that without anyone the whole thing as we know it would collapse
and a whole new universe created to accommodate such an important absence. The
Great Creator in infinite wisdom deemed it so, and for that we can all be very
grateful.
