This Thing Called LOVE
Love is one of the
most misunderstood of concepts we have. It is often used in the enslaving
processes we all tend to engage in from time to time. What is this thing called
love, and why is there such a fuss about it? Love is everything and in all
things. Love is the very substance which forms our bodies and holds those
bodies together in space.
The ancient Greek language had a finer definition of the major manifestations of love than does modern English. In today’s usage, the word love is used for any, and every, manifestation of affection. While love defines affection, it in no way testifies to the degrees and qualities affection may take. The Greek word AGAPE means unconditional love. It implies a love that is without concern for behavior, size, race, gender, national origin, or sexual preference. In English that same word is agape, meaning open. I truly like the twist it has taken.
Unconditional love is open and accepting of every aspect of the beloved, allowing the beloved to be exactly what and who it/he/she is without let or hindrance.
